If youre around Nottingham from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 February 2026, the Theatre Royal has the stage debut of The Killings at Badgers Drift, with tickets starting at 18.50. Its the story of poor spinster Emily Simpson turning up dead in the pretty village of Badgers Drift, which her mate Lucy Bellringer insists wasnt just bad luck. Cue DCI Tom Barnaby and Sergeant Gavin Troy poking around the locals eccentricities, dredging up old secrets, forbidden flings and rivalries sharp enough to cut glass. Think classic whodunnit with twists thatll have you second guessing your neighbours, all served up with the TV shows sly wit and countryside chill, straight from Caroline Grahams book.
Daniel Casey swaps his original Sergeant Troy gig for Barnaby this time, fresh off soaps like Emmerdale and stage turns in Yes Prime Minister. James Bradwell, known as Lord Basilio from Bridgerton, takes Troy. The villages colourful residents get juggled by Nathalie Barclay, Chandrika Chevli, John Dougall, Julie Legrand, Rupert Sadler, Chris Agha and Rhan Crowley-McLean. Guy Unsworth wrote and directs this Bentley Productions and ITV adaptation. Shows kick off Tuesday at 19:30, Wednesday and Thursday have 14:00 and 19:30 slots, Friday 19:30, Saturday 14:30 and 19:30. Cast and times might shift, fair warning.
