Wednesday 17 June 2026, from 8pm to 10pm at Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham. Tickets are between ten and fifteen pounds, and doors open at seven if you want to get a decent spot and a drink beforehand.
is a ten piece mob of horn players and percussionists from up north. They smash together New Orleans jazz, funk, grunge, and Latin grooves into something they call riot prog, which basically means loud, cheerful, and a bit nuts. They do their own twisted versions of covers and original tunes, and they've been known to get festival crowds going at places like Kendal Calling and Beat Herder. Their debut album Charge came out in 2017, they've got a live EP from London Remixed, and they're supposed to be working on a second album in early 2025. The current lineup looks something like Gavin Brown on sousaphone, Karl Dransfield on drums, a bunch of saxophones, trombones, and trumpets, and a few more people whose names I can't quite keep straight. It will be loud, it will be fun, and you probably won't be able to sit still.
