Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham hosts on Thursday 22nd January 2026. Doors at 7pm, with the band playing from 8 to 10pm including a cheeky interval for drinks or chit-chat. Tickets go for 15 quid. On stage you'll find Alex Hitchcock blowing sax, Maria Chiara Argiro tinkling piano and synths, Michelangelo Scandroglio thumping double bass, and Myele Manzanza keeping time on drums.
These lot have earned nods as virtuosos from The Guardian, electric from Okayplayer, and absolutely crazy good from Gilles Peterson, though they're all busy bees as solo acts too. lets them jam out fresh tunes into something bigger than solo efforts, blending groovy modern beats with wild improv that somehow hangs together. The name's an acronym for La Via Del Ferro, Italian for The Iron Way, sparked in a Tuscan workshop near an old iron hub, which fits their scatter of origins from Italy, New Zealand, and the UK, now dotted across Paris, London, and New York. They've notched up gigs at spots like London Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's which they packed out, and various Italian jaunts.
