Dennis Rollins has put together his New Calypso Crew, featuring guitarist Cameron Pierre, for a couple of shows at Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham on Friday 6 March 2026. Tickets are twenty quid, with performances kicking off at 6.45pm and 9.15pm. First show's doors open at 6pm, music from 6.45pm, and they'll need your table back by 8.15pm. Second one starts doors at 8.30pm, tunes from 9.15pm, running till late.

Drawing from his Caribbean background, trombonist Dennis leads this fresh band through calypso's bouncy rhythms, mixing original numbers with tweaks on classics by Lord Invader, Lord Kitchener, Monty Alexander, Harry Belafonte, The Mighty Sparrow, Arrow and others. Lineup looks like Lance Rose on bass, Kenrick Rowe drumming, Chris Jerome on keys, though those question marks in the listings leave a bit of mystery. Warm vibes and good grooves ahead, nothing too flashy.
