, the project of Bristol based songwriter, producer and multi instrumentalist Tor Maries, plays Metronome in Nottingham on Tuesday 7 October 2025. Doors 7.30pm. Tickets £22.50.

The last year and a half has been a proper rollercoaster. Touring 2023's CACTI ended with a Glastonbury set that attracted ugly online misogyny and was taken down at her request, but that was only one chapter. Metalhorse is the first album made in a studio with a full band, produced by James Trevacsus and recorded at Paco Loco in Seville. Mandy Clarke takes care of bass and Liam Chapman handles drums for the record and the live shows, bringing extra muscle to the live sound. Metalhorse asks you to find your own funfair, not as a cure but as a reason to marvel at the lights while they are still on. It pairs ache with stubborn joy and often gives you a beat to keep you moving while you figure it out.
