On Wednesday 4 March 2026, from 6pm to 7:30pm at Bromley House Library, Manish Chauhan will be chatting with Clare Brown about his novel Belgrave Road. Tickets start from 8 pounds. Manish made the shortlist for the BBC Short Story Award back in 2024, and this is shaping up as one of Fabers heftier debuts for 2026.

The story centres on Mira, whos landed in England with an arranged marriage to a near stranger shes not sure shell ever warm to, her days packed with obligation and short on adventure. Then along comes Tahliil, the quiet chap from work with eyes full of mystery who actually pays attention to her dreams of reinvention. Set in Leicester, its a look at first love amid todays Britain, the sort of thing that might appeal if you enjoyed American Marriage, Ordinary People or Evenings and Weekends.
