Abstract photography is pretty much about taking a picture of something and then making it look like... well, not that thing at all. It's more about the interplay of colours, shapes, and general visual shenanigans, rather than a clear snapshot of your neighbour's questionable garden gnome. This get-together is all about trying your hand at creating those 'what on earth is that' images that somehow still manage to look rather marvellous and make people scratch their heads in a good way.

Our resident expert will be on hand to demystify the whole process, so you can learn the secrets behind making these beautifully bewildering shots. We'll have a natter about composition, getting your colours spot on, and making the most of texture. Expect to ponder how to turn your everyday kettle into an artistic statement and perhaps even try experimenting with perspectives that might involve lying on the floor or looking at things from unusual angles. It's less about showing what something is, and more about showing what it could be if you squinted hard enough and had a camera.
