Take an underground tour of a cave system situated underneath Wollaton Hall, one of the most iconic heritage sites in Nottingham and setting for Batman's Wayne Manor in Dark Knight Rises.


Learn all about how the caves were created, used and what they tell us about life at Wollaton Hall. Find out how the staff and inhabitants of Wollaton Hall created and expanded its cave systems, how it was used and what it tells us about past and present societies. As the route to the caves leads through a Tudor kitchen, you will also get to meet Lady Liz, our Tudor character and get the chance to better understand how caves fit with activities in other parts of Wollaton Hall.

There are steps leading to the caves. Photographs and a video tour of the caves will be available for attendees to view the caves from accessible areas of the venue.
