On Monday 16 February 2026 at 7pm, Jess Gillam teams up with the Fantasia Orchestra at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall. Tickets kick off at 27.50 quid. Jess, the sax-playing prodigy who snuck into the Last Night of the Proms as its youngest soloist ever, also chats away on her BBC Radio 3 show This Classical Life, now in season seven. Shes the lone sax star on Decca Classics, with albums that topped the UK classical charts, plus a Classic BRIT and an MBE to her name. Fantasia, cooked up by conductor Tom Fetherstonhaugh, rounds up Britains sharpest young classical guns, who turned heads at the 2024 Proms by blending Brahms with Chic and everyone in between.

Expect a proper musical rummage through JS Bachs Prelude from Partita No 3, CPE Bachs Allegro Assai, Bartoks Transylvanian Dances, MacMillans Saxophone Concerto, Kate Bushs Jig of Life, Sidney Bechets Petite Fleur, Steve Reichs fast Electric Counterpoint movement, Gershwins Lullaby, Joni Mitchells Both Sides Now, Donald Grants Bha la eile ann, a trad Swallowtail Jig, and Harles RANT. Doors creak open at 6pm, wrapping up around 8.40pm.
