On Wednesday 6 May 2026, you can catch a free lunchtime concert at University Hall on NTUs City Campus in Nottingham. Its half an hour of live music from students and staff who clearly enjoy showing off their skills on whatever instruments theyve got, from the predictable to the peculiar.

These gigs are properly casual, with a mix of styles to suit whatever mood youre in while dodging the usual sandwich slump. Kicks off at 1pm and wraps by 1.30pm, so youve got just enough time to pretend you were productive before heading back to your desk.
