February half term rolls around with family activities at Nottingham Contemporary on Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th February 2026, running 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm each day. Free entry but booking essential since spaces vanish faster than socks in a dryer. Inspired by Shahana Rajanis Lines That World a River and Dala Nassers Cemetery of Martyrs, kids and grownups can make stuff, poke around and play in dropin workshops. Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm switch to lowerkey SEND sessions for neurodivergent children and families who fancy a calmer vibe, no diagnosis required. Snag one ticket per person including adults, and if plans change, cancel so someone else doesnt miss out. For queries or booking help, email info at nottinghamcontemporary.org or ring 0115 948 9750.

Everything happens in their big ground floor Space with a dedicated sensory corner, adult and kid noise reducing headphones on request, a Changing Places facility, breastfeeding welcome status and first aid trained staff milling about. Snacks and drinks fine in the Space but skip them in the exhibitions to avoid wrath of the art gods. Turn it into a full day by popping over to Nottingham Central Library for more free antics or tackling the Robin Hood Adventure Trail, a gratis city centre quest courtesy of Its in Nottingham. Limited spots, so dont dilly dally.
