Get ready to jingle all the way to Eastwood on Tuesday, 26th November 2024, when Eastwood Square and Victoria Street will transform into a festive wonderland from 5.30 pm to 8 pm. Picture this: a Christmas market bursting with delectable treats, festive goodies, and enough sweets to make your dentist faint. You can munch on all kinds of festive fare, from crispy donuts to traditional nibbles, all while meandering through stalls that are probably filled with things you didn't know you needed but somehow can't live without. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, how about some face painting to unleash your inner reindeer?
At the heart of it all, our beloved Santa will be making a very special pit stop at his grotto in the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum Courtyard, giving kiddos a chance to spill their Christmas wish lists from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. For those seeking a quieter experience, they're offering sensory sessions beforehand from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm, so grab a spot while you can. As the clock strikes 6 pm, the main event kicks off with Victorian carol singers and the raucous Spark! Drummers lighting up the night, while fairground rides and a nativity trail bring the Christmas spirit to life. And let's not forget the Pesky Alligators pumping out some toe-tapping tunes. At 7 pm, the Mayor of Broxtowe along with the Eastwood Town Mayor will flick the switch on the Christmas lights like it's the best festive game of hide and seek ever. Wrap it all up with a firework display that will have you wishing you hadn't eaten that extra donut. Just a heads up: Nottingham Road takes a breather from 6 pm to 9 pm, but hey, that just means more room for merriment. Grab your mates, your family, and maybe that random neighbour who always brings fruitcake, and let's get merry.
