On Sunday 28th December 2025, the take over Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham for an afternoon of tuneful vocals, swinging piano and double bass, plus the odd burst of violin magic and some cheeky husband-and-wife banter. Doors open at 1pm with the performance running from 2 to 4pm, and tickets go for 8 to 12 quid. Sophie-Jayne Holder handles vocals, Ben Holder switches between piano and violin, and Mike Green keeps things steady on double bass, blending French chansons, Spanish tunes, German numbers, and laid-back jazz swing without overdoing the schmaltz.

Sophie-Jayne kicked off on flute at four, juggled orchestras and choirs, then swapped to languages at uni, living abroad to hone her French, German and Spanish, making this gig a perfect mash-up of her obsessions. Ben, hailed as the UK's jazz violin hotshot and a self-taught piano whizz, swapped classical bows at six for Benny Goodman and Stephane Grappelli vibes in his teens, nailing that elusive swing rhythm classical types chase forever, all with stage swagger to boot. Mike brings his first-class Birmingham Conservatoire degree and improv chops to double and electric bass, popping up everywhere from packed Ronnie Scott's nights to BBC telly spots backing Jamie Cullum and Shirley Bassey.
