Monday 1 June 2026, 1.10pm to 1.55pm at the Albert Hall Nottingham. Peter Siepmann gives his inaugural recital on the Binns organ. The lunchtime programme includes Bach Prelude in E flat St Anne BWV 552, Mendelssohn Sonata op. 65 No. 2 with its Grave Adagio, Allegro e maestoso and Allegro moderato fugue, Amy Summers O lux beata Trinitas and César Franck Chorale No 3. Admission £5. Feel free to bring your own lunch, in case you prefer your sandwich to the hymn tune.

Peter Siepmann is the newly appointed Director of Music at Nottingham Cathedral and is well known around the region for his encouraging and enthusiastic approach to choirs and continuo. He studied at St Edward's School Oxford and the University of Nottingham where he took his doctorate in 2010. His CV includes nearly two decades as an educator, a long stint as Organist and Director of Music at St Peter's Church Nottingham during which he helped install a new organ, the conductor's chair at Nottingham Bach Choir since 2019 and roles as an ABRSM examiner and General Manager of Southwell Music Festival. He lives in Southwell with his wife Adele and son Alexander, who sings in the cathedral choir.
