On Monday, 27th September 2024, from 10am to 3pm, you can saunter over to Bonington Gallery for a free peek at "After the End of History: British Working Class Photography 1989 2024." This isn't your average art show; it's a deep dive into more than 120 pieces showcasing 35 years of working-class life through the eyes of those who live it. You know, the folks who shine a light on the lived experiences, quirks, and bittersweet realities of their communities, rather than just having a good old look at them from a distance.
Curated by Johny Pitts, this exhibition flips the script by letting working-class artists take the reins. They're not just peering into their own backyards; they've got the whole world in their sights, too. So, if you're up for a bit of reflection on what it means to live and create in a working-class world, this is the place to be. Don't forget, the shindig kicks off with a launch on the evening of Thursday, 26th September at 6 pm, and yes, you can grab free tickets for that too if you fancy a night out filled with art and insightful chats.
