On Tuesday, 28th January 2025, Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham is set to host none other than the legendary James Taylor Quartet. Doors open at 7pm and the performance kicks off at 8pm, so you've got just enough time to grab a drink and settle in. With tickets ranging from £20 to £30, you might want to skip that second round at the pub — trust us, this will be worth every penny.
Now, if you haven't heard of James Taylor, you might be living under a rock or possibly just not hip to the organ scene. For over 25 years, he's been wowing crowds with his signature Hammond organ sound, which reportedly howls like a banshee on roller skates. Critics call him the best Hammond player this side of the Atlantic, and we'd have to agree. His upbeat live shows are like a funky trip back to the '60s and '70s, packed with groovy tunes that pay homage to jazz and soul. Plus, did we mention that he kicked off his path to greatness after the unfortunate demise of mod legends The Prisoners? Talk about turning lemons into lemonade. So, if you fancy a night of toe-tapping tunes and a dash of nostalgia, make your plans now for a jazz-filled evening with the one and only JTQ.
