Anyone who has caught an episode of the hugely popular Ninja Warrior will know that rock climbers tend to excel in the demanding obstacle course. That's because rock climbing, whether it's a real rock face or a man made wall, takes immense determination and a whole heap of muscle power to succeed.
It builds strength, agility and overall whole body fitness. It's also a great activity for kids too, so if you're looking for a pastime that keeps them entertained and builds their fitness, rock climbing is one to consider. Here's where you can go rock climbing in Nottingham.
Nottingham Climbing Centre caters for children aged five and over and offers a ‘Taster Session’ to see how the kids take to the climbing wall. Children can then take part in the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) in which they will earn certificates of achievement on their way to becoming fully competent. Sessions for children aged 5 to 7 years are run on Wednesdays and Saturdays and sessions for children aged 7 to 16 years are run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All safety gear is included.
Nottingham Climbing Centre runs birthday parties for kids, in which they can have a go at climbing and also take part in the burrow exploration experience, a tunnel system set over four levels. Party guests will twist, turn, bob and weave in a fun and safe environment with fully qualified and experienced instructors watching over them.
The price is £13 per guest, which includes an hour and a half climbing, time in the burrows and free use of a party room.
