The National Justice Museum in Nottingham is opening its doors for the October half term from Monday 13 October to Sunday 2 November 2025, with activities included in your paid admission. Its a chance to wander through some quirky history without needing a get-out-of-jail-free card, and theyve even got a new annual pass if you fancy turning into a regular face among the exhibits.
Kick things off with the Faces of Justice family trail running daily, where you pick up a leaflet and hunt for intriguing faces hidden in the museums objects, turning a simple stroll into a spot-the-portrait game. On Mondays 20 and 27 October at 10:30am and 4pm, join Joanna Ledwich for her prison escape reenactment, handling historical bits and pieces while she plots her 1831 breakout, plus she might rope you in to find her lost escape tools scattered around. Thursdays 23 and 30 October bring object handling sessions in the double cell from 11:30am to 1:30pm, letting you poke at rarely seen items tied to justice tales of power and rebellion. And on Wednesdays 22 and 29 October at 11am and 3pm, try the Millbank Record Activity, rolling dice to invent your own cheeky criminal backstory before comparing it to real prison logs in the cell. The museum is open Monday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm, so no last-minute dashes to the docket.
