If you are looking for something to fill your Friday evening on 15th August, the Metronome in Nottingham is playing host to the . The doors swing open at 7pm for a night of live music featuring some fresh talent. These are the bright young things from Engine Room, a rather admirable not for profit label that dedicates itself to nurturing emerging artists from around Nottinghamshire. The best bit? It is free to get in, though you will need to sort out a booking beforehand, probably to ensure they do not have an actual stampede for the prime listening spots.
The musical proceedings kick off sharpish at 7:15pm with a panel discussion aimed at young people with stars in their eyes about the music industry. After that, your ears are in for a treat with performances from Jude Kirk, Dring, Eiina, Don't Worry, I Have A Plan, and Get The Army. Apparently, these acts have been lovingly developed through Inspire Youth Arts, so expect some proper musical shenanigans. It sounds like a decent way to discover someone new, or at least enjoy some local sounds without breaking the bank.
