On Thursday 24 July 2025, from 6pm to 8pm, the National Justice Museum is hosting another Crime Club event. Tickets are sixteen pounds fifty for a standard admission, or fourteen pounds fifty if you qualify for a concession. A free drink is included with your ticket, so you won't even have to bribe anyone for one. The topic for this session is historical crime cases.
It seems the 1790s in Nottingham were a bit of a handful, what with all the rioting and general chaos in the streets. Nottingham apparently had a rather feisty reputation for political shenanigans back then. It was all a bit wild, with mobs of Whigs and Tories having a go at buildings and each other, depending on who you were rooting for. The event might make you ponder who you would have sided with. This Crime Club session will delve into the Georgian era's particular brand of madness, as Nottingham apparently decided to embrace brawls, public unrest and some rather radical notions. It promises real crimes, real stories, and actual evidence, so no made up bits.
