Cookery Classes For Kids At Go Bake Nottingham

by BecSorby (follow)
Educate. Explore. Enjoy cooking!

Cooking is not only a handy life skill, it is also a wonderful pastime for families and people of all ages. Cooking is a skill that children can learn from a young age and carry with them into adulthood.

If you’re not sure how to start teaching them how to cook, Go Bake offers cookery classes for children of all ages – even for the under fives!

Go Bake is a local company with classes available at various locations including Plumtree, Beeston, Ruddington and Tollerton. The classes are unsurprisingly sensory, with children encouraged to get messy and sticky as they learn about food. After all, mess is how young children learn!

The classes take into account three core values – education about various foods and where they come from, exploring new tastes and learning about different cultures, and enjoying the experience and having fun while they learn. Children will also meet a very special puppet, Gingie the gingerbread man, who will join them in classes and during play.

The classes are split between children aged five and under and those over five years. The aim of the company is to educate children about food, including making the right choices about food, how food impacts the body and to encourage children to explore tastes and textures.

Classes are run weekly during school term time. They cover breakfast, lunch, healthy snacks, plus sweet and seasonal treats. The class format is simple and includes learning time, tasting and sampling various foods, baking and cooking and some fun songs, games and stories with Gingie! The cost of each class is £5.50 and £4.50 for siblings.

Go Bake also runs holiday workshops and parties, which are offered for children aged 3 to 13 years. Go Bake will come to you, so you can either hold the party at home or at a venue which has access to an oven and sink. There are three party types available:
Cupcakes and pizza party (for children aged 3 to 13)
Cupcakes and Mocktails party (for children aged 6 to 13)
The Emoji Baking party (for children aged 6 to 13)

Parties are around two hours in duration and cost £14, with a minimum of 10 children required. All guests will get to bake and eat their creations, or take them home to show mum and dad. Go Bake also provides delightful birthday cakes and wedding cakes, with novelty shaped cakes starting from £45 and wedding cakes from £100.
