Children’s Activities At Floralands Garden Centre And Farm Park

by BecSorby (follow)
If there are two things that most children love, it’s getting mucky outdoors and meeting cute baby animals. At Floralands Garden Centre and Farm Park, the kids can do both. Floralands has a heap of activities for the kids to do, including the farm, where they can meet some new furry friends, or join the gardening club and even have a birthday party!

The Farm Park
When you visit a farm, one of the biggest attractions for children is the animals they meet! Floralands Farm Park is home to a heap of different animals, including pigs, donkeys, sheep, alpacas and pygmy goats. If they want to feel like a real farmer, they can have a go on the ride-on pedal tractors.

Adventure Playground
Floralands has a super cool adventure playground for the kids in the picnic area, with treehouses, big and little slides, rope bridges and climbing walls to explore.

Mini Train Rides
The kids will love taking a ride on the mini train! The train runs on Sundays during May to August – see the website for more details.

Children’s Gardening Club
Floralands Garden Centre and Farm Park plays host to the Children’s Gardening Club, which is held on various dates throughout the year and gets the children involved in different gardening activities. Sessions are free (although a small donation to charity is much appreciated) and a different activity is run in each workshop. In September 2017, the activity is Spring Bulb Planting, while October’s activity is Pinecone Bird Feeders, and in November, the kids can have a go at Autumn Leaf Mobiles. Children must be accompanied by an adult. It’s fun with plants for the whole family!

Blossom Café
Children need to eat after all that play, of course. Blossom Café serves up breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea every day for hungry little bodies. Enjoy indoor or outdoor terrace dining and munch on home made scones, cakes and fresh sandwiches. Lunch items include soups, jacket potatoes and sandwiches. The café is open between 9:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

As the name suggests, there’s also a Garden Centre on site that sells a huge range of water features, aggregates, patio paving sets and statues.

Floralands Garden Centre and Farm Park is a wonderful outing for parents and children alike. It’s what nature and the outdoors should be – lots of lovely greenery, cute animals and fresh air.
