Bryan Corbett and his quintet are bringing a dose of classic jazz to Peggy's Skylight in Nottingham on Thursday 17th July 2025. If you fancy an evening of what they call 'Blue Note Sessions', which basically means they will be dipping into the rich songbooks of jazz legends like Blue Mitchell, Horace Silver, Art Blakey and Donald Byrd, then this might be up your street. Doors creak open at 7pm, with the quintet kicking off their set at 8pm and playing until 10pm, including a civilised interval so you can stretch your legs or perhaps grab another drink.

This is not just any old jazz night apparently Courtney Pine declared it "The Bomb" (in the best possible sense, one presumes) and Michael Parkinson, a man who knows a thing or two about quality, deemed it "Something special". The ensemble features Bryan Corbett himself on trumpet, Chris Bowden on saxophone, Paul Deats on piano, Tom Hill on double bass, and Andrew 'Woody' Wood keeping time on the drums. Tickets are a rather reasonable eight to fourteen quid. If that sounds like your cup of tea (or perhaps something stronger), you can find more details and book your spot via the link on Peggy's Skylight website.
