Thursday 13 November 2025, 7.30pm to 9.20pm, about 1 hour 50 minutes including interval at the Djanogly Recital Hall. Tickets for the hall are 22 to 24. The programme includes Tchaikovsky arranged by Pletnev Sleeping Beauty Suite, Chopin 12 Etudes Op.10 and Liszt Sonata in B minor.

Born in Moscow, Andrey Gugnin won the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2016, the Instrumental category of the BBC Music Magazine Awards in 2020 and the Classic Piano International Piano Competition in 2024. He combines serious technique with expressive playing, so expect an evening that serves up both bravura and feeling, and be warned that Chopin's Etudes are more of a workout than a lullaby.
